Real Estate Web Design is What
We Do
Your property data: RETS, VOW, ILD or IDX real estate web design with custom property search / directories, dynamic map search, customer relationship management (CRM) automation, conversion tracking, custom reporting and website content management.
“Your web site should be a revenue generating asset to your business.”
Most real estate web design companies
can lose track of that most important factor by treating
their website production like an assembly line, their
customers as a head count and only providing a basic
"brochure" web site where you do all the work.
Savvy Realtors® realize their websites need
to be more than just a brochure; they need a tool that
will make them more productive and help generate more
sales.
You'll find that one of the major reasons that
real estate professionals hire us is due to the way
our web sites impact their bottom line. The
benefits are two-fold: You'll get new ways to optimize
your business and sales process by streamlining your
lead collection and qualification. You'll generate more
leads and retain more web site visitors' interest by
providing easy ways for your visitors to use your site
for all of their real estate needs. The results are
client proven.
“You can prepare yourself for success
in an area where a large number of Realtors® tend
to fail.”
The Real Estate Web Design Guide
Creating a real estate website
that generates results is a difficult undertaking that
starts with a “master blueprint” and ends
up with a content-rich site that both captures and converts
site visitors into sales. This guide exposes the challenges,
reveals common pitfalls and examines the path you can
take on your road to success. Review the challenges
below on the way to implementing a successful real estate
Web solution.
Will your website free up your
time or create more work for you?
The real determining factor is almost never the "template"
or design portion of a site. It is what your site does
for you that you no longer have to do.
To further explain, a comparative analogy of how we're
different than most our assumed competition. Let's say
you want to buy 10,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space to
store your products and ship them out. You are presented
with two choices:
1.) Buy a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse that contains
your shelving, includes a delivery system to keep
your inventory organized and up-to-date, stocks your
shelves, sorts and organizes your customers’
orders and automatically delivers them information
about new products when they become available. It
also allows your customers to search your inventory
in the way you define.
2.) Buy a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse that contains your
needed shelving. You do the rest of the work.
The first example relates to how our solutions work
for you. The second relates to most real estate web
design providers. MetalSoftware produces the most thorough combination of user experience, site management, tracking and contact management tools which appeal to multi-agent/multi-branch offices and top notch agents alike.
Do you know how to avoid the common
pitfalls of real estate web design?
| Common Pitfalls |
MetalSoftware™ Solutions |
Results |
| You're losing business because your property detail pages
have someone else's contact information on them. (Common with "framed" IDX sites). |
Our sites allow you to control what information is displayed
on your pages. You can specify how your property pages will be formatted, sorted, paginated, and displayed. |
Any lead coming to your site is going to be your
lead. And since it's all on your site, you can know exactly how visitors are using your site. |
| You're losing web site traffic because your property listings
are not indexable by the search engines or on your domain name. (Common with "framed" solutions) |
Search engines see lots of listings on *your site*, not www.your_mlsidx_provider.com. Once we have control over the listing data this allows the search engines to associate every listing on your site to your site. |
Your site looks more active, bigger, more important and fresher to the search engines making it more relevant and ranking higher. |
| Great looking site, but you have no idea how anybody is using it or what those detailed traffic reports mean. |
MetalSoftware's unique user "temperature gauge" automatically tells you who are the best prospects based upon how they use the site. MetalSoftware sites track every user action and our proprietary software crunches the numbers to give you a single parameter that defines how hot a prospect might be based upon how and how much they use the site. |
Your agents and/or yourself can work faster and more efficiently. |
| The server your web site was hosted on crashed, now all
of your site and lead data is gone. But they said they had
a backup? |
Our self-healing servers and remote backup facilities protect
your data and your livelihood. |
You stay in business for the long term. |
| You started your real estate web site with no marketing plan. Now you have
a great site but no traffic. |
We can get you started in the right direction to make your
site successful. |
Your web site pays for itself. |
| You're losing visitors because your property search is difficult
to use. |
Our sites do not limit you to a set search method. You have
the flexibility of making the search operate the way you and
more importantly, your site's visitors, want. |
People who visit your site find the information
they need. |
Will your website let you focus on selling
real estate?
Your real estate web site
needs its own resources to operate properly. One of
those resources we call "hosting". For those
of you not familiar with the term, it can be narrowed
down to "who, what, where and how?": Who runs
the actual computer that your web site is on? What type
of equipment do they use? Where is it located? And how
does it let me focus on selling real estate?
When you host with MetalSoftware, we
use the latest business level equipment to run your
web site at our data center. We put in place specific
technical features to service our business level clients
that you will not find at bargain hosting companies.
The chart below explains some mission-critical business
challenges and how our solutions address them.
| Site Challenges |

and provide SPAM filtering to our email accounts. |
Your site, data and email accounts are protected
from dangerous files and junk email. |
Will your website generate income and
allow your business to grow?
A real estate web site has a general
purpose of generating more business for its owners.
Without sensible site promotion the best web site will
fail. We can help you start your real estate web site
with our Internet Marketing services. See the chart
below to see what we can do for you and why.
| Marketing Service |
What we do |
Why we do it |
| Search Engine Inclusion |
If your site is not already included we will add your site for inclusion into the major search
engines. These provide 96% of the traffic to web sites. |
Be aware of companies that claim to submit your
site to 1000's of search engines. They could be
adding your site to places that will get you banned. Many such "search
engine" sites just collect your e-mail address
so they can flood your inbox with spam e-mail. |
| Directory Submission |
Find the best category in the major directories
and submit your real estate web site. |
Directory submission can increase your traffic results
in the major search engines |
| Keyword targeting |
Match your market specific search terms to actual
user searches. |
If you come up for "hikawaki real estate"
but no one searches for that term, you will not
get the traffic you're after. |
| Site Optimization |
Tailor the content and structure of your pages. |
The content of your real estate site is an important
factor in how it allows people to find your site. |
| Link Building |
Create content to encourage natural links |
It helps you establish your real estate site as
a good resource for your services in the search
engines. |

How much will my real estate web design
solution cost?
There are a few costs to consider:
1.) Monthly "hosting"
2.) Domain Name Registration
3.) Marketing
4.) Updates, upgrades and maintenance
5.) Design and development costs
1.) Monthly hosting
Based upon your storage and
transfer requirements. These are the costs associated
with keeping your site going 24/7/365, showing your
pages to visitors who come calling and downloading/storing
your listing and site data. The servers that your site
is hosted on are maintained by the MetalSoftware server
team as part of your hosting package. Patches, virus
and spam control are all included in your monthly hosting
fees.
2.) Domain name registration
We provide complete domain registration services
and real-time registry updates via your personal management
interface. When you build your website with MetalSoftware,
we offer domain registration services at $20 per year,
per domain.
3.) Web site marketing
»
Learn More About Real Estate Internet Marketing
4.) Updates, Upgrades & Maintenance
If you use our web-based content management system you can change your own pages and information. For basic
page changes, copy-writing, design updates & programming
changes our hourly fee is $80 with a 15 minute minimum. Custom programming is most often done by estimate.
Most clients save up a few tasks as it helps lower the
costs.
5.) Design & Development
Would you start building a home without having a blueprint?
Your Website should be no different. You should have
specific objectives in wanting a real estate web design
solution. In general, you should be able to answer these
questions:
» What are the goals for your
Web site?
» Who are you trying to communicate
with?
» What information do you want
to present?
» How will you know if the site
is successful?
» What do you need to do right
now to prepare for what you want to be doing one year
from now?
» Most importantly, how will
this Web site contribute to your bottom line?
These are just some of the kinds of questions that a
good "blueprint" will address.
Once the high level strategy is developed, the next
step is the detailed site architecture.
» How each component of your
website will work together
» How your prospects find their
way around those interconnected components
» How your website will present
your image professionally and true to your strategy.
MetalSoftware develops site architecture maps for every
project. These maps eventually become the guiding "blueprint",
to the site's development. Once the plan is complete,
only then are you ready to start building.
Once we finish your real estate web design
"blueprint" we will be able to accurately
estimate the costs of your website project. To get a
ballpark idea, use our »
